Emergencies can happen at any time. Emergency Preparedness Week is a province-wide opportunity for residents to learn simple, practical ways to be ready for unexpected situations.

Emergency Preparedness Week is coordinated nationally by Public Safety Canada in collaboration with provinces, territories, and local communities. The goal is to help individuals and families take steps now that can make a real difference during an emergency.

This Year’s Theme

Be Prepared. Know Your Risks.

This year’s theme encourages households to understand the risks in their area and take action to protect themselves, their families, and their communities. Simple steps like planning ahead and building an emergency kit can help residents be more self-sufficient during the first 72 hours of an emergency.
