In 2013, the Township of South Stormont adopted a young owl and she decided she loved South Stormont so much, she wanted to help spread good news and cheer to our community's children.

First things first, she needed a name. A contest was held within all of our local schools to help name our new ambassador. We had so many great and creative suggestions, but one "soared" above the rest. Thomas and Morgan Bray, Grade 1 students of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School submitted the perfect name for our beloved mascot; Hootin' Annie!

From that day on, Annie has been seen at local schools, events, and visits to the Township Office helping to share kindness, excitement and a sense of pride for our community to the kids that call South Stormont home!

Annie is here to bring cheer to South Stormont! As she may be new to some in our community, we’re excited to reintroduce her and share the joy she brings as a friendly and welcoming presence in our township.

On behalf of all of her friends here at the Township Office, help us to welcome Hootin' Annie back to work and be sure to say hello if you see her around the community!
